2017 January - 2017 December : The data for Democracy learning model is being developed as part of the Data for Democracy Project (D4D), led in Myanmar by the The Myanmar Book Aid and Preservation Foundation (MBAPF), with support from the University of Washington’s Technology and Social Change Group (TASCHA) and the Tableau Foundation.Over the past 12 months, the D4D project has explored the use of data by various organizations in Myanmar, with the goal of understanding possible contributing factors that would better enable organizations in the country to generate, curate, consume, and utilize data for more effective decision making.A key aspect of the project is developing a learning model to address organizations’ data cultures, practices, policies, and skills. The model will be based on current theory of data life cycles and data literacy, but developed to be applicable to the Myanmar context and extensible to different organization types.
